They deserve to live too!

Neonatal period; It is a period in which the baby adapts to the new conditions and covers the first four weeks of life. Neonatal period is crucial. Because in the world, more than half of infant deaths are in the first four weeks of life, and a large majority of them are in the first 24 hours.

The number of babies in the neonatal period is lost in Turkey is higher than the world. An average of 1.5 million babies are born each year in our country, but about 50 thousand of these babies are lost in the newborn period. The vast majority of these deaths result in premature birth or births on inappropriate conditions. It is also a fact that at least 50 percent of these depend on preventable causes.

The conclusions about the neonatal period indicate that this problem is serious in our country. For this reason, modern neonatal intensive care centers need to be widespread in our country as it is in the world.

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Nisa Hospital was established with this awareness. In our unit from the day it was established; Babies with various newborn problems such as premature births of 650 grams or 26 weeks, those with respiratory distress, blood transfusions due to newborn jaundice, infectious problems or surgical intervention were looked at. In our unit, which has 24-hour continuous service with a strong team of experts in its fields, a large number of problem babies are brought to health.

Our aim; Newborn Intensive Care Unit is one of the few reference centers of Istanbul and Marmara Region with its technical equipment, health staff and achieved achievements. Our target; not only the problematic babies born in our hospital, but also all the problem babies in need of intensive care. For this purpose, transportation from the place where a baby is born to our unit is done by our team through the transport incubator.

However, it should be known that the most ideal condition for protecting the health of the baby is to perform delivery in a health institution with a neonatal intensive care unit.
