In Istanbul Medipol Hospital where importance is given as well as after delivery, all infants are taken care of in the special newborn unit immediately after birth.
The air, which is kept in optimum condition in terms of heat, humidity and oxygen, 20 beds and a specially designed newborn unit are ideal conditions for babies.
Infants who are kept under surveillance until they are discharged under the supervision of a large number of infant nurses and specialist doctors meet with their mothers during breastfeeding hours and feed their babies whose mothers' milk is pumped with the help of a special pump.
TSH for fetal hypothyroidism, Guthrie test for phenylketonuria, and hip ultrasonography for congenital hip exclusion are used for screening purposes after delivery.
